At what time of day do you feel the most Energetic and Productive?

I’m a morning person! Always have been and probably always will be.

As an educator our profession is an early one…meaning,  that we are up at the crack of dawn to get ready, get out the door and get ready to teach. As a result I have spent most of my life, so far, finding that the time that I’m the most primed to get the most accomplished is in the hours before Noon.

When I was a school principal I found that it was also true that I had much more energy to tackle big projects, visit classrooms, meet with teachers and hold staff development sessions in the AM hours. I’m still up pretty much by 6AM every morning, even though as an educational consultant, I no longer report to a school site. My body clock is clearly set, but I’m OK with that.

I love the early morning and treasure the quiet time, especially now that my husband and I are pretty much empty-nesters. The AM hours give me the clarity that I need to get myself focused for the day, and leaves me the afternoon to play!

How about you…are you an early riser? Or a night owl?

I’m excited to be joining the BlogHer January Blogging series, a series of blog prompts that bloggers agree to write about each day. The blogosphere is going to be active with the hashtag  #NaBloPoMo and I have made the commitment to post daily for the month of January, so wish me luck! While participating, I hope to push myself to be creative and grow in my ability to be a better blogger. It would be great for you to participate with me by commenting on my post with your own take on the topic.

Thank you for stopping by!
