From Where Do You Draw Your Energy?

Welcome 2013!

I am excited to be joining the BlogHer January Blogging series. This is a series of blog prompts that bloggers agree to write about each day. The blogosphere is going to be active with the hashtag  #NaBloPoMo and I have agreed to post daily for the month of January, so wish me luck! While participating, I hope to push myself to be creative and grow in my ability to be a better blogger. It would be great for you to participate with me by commenting on my post with your own take on the topic.

This month’s theme is ENERGY.

I’ve decided to share today’s prompt From where do you draw your energy? via a new app I discovered called Haiku Deck. What do you think? I’m liking it so much, that I’m  going to try to use it consistently this month to highlight points of the #NaBloPoMo January series. The way it integrates visuals with text is inspiring!

This months theme of energy is going to be fascinating in terms of how it will draw the inner most thoughts and ideas from me and those participating in this series , as to how they get, use, harness energy. It fascinates me, as I have always been a high energy person. It’s written on almost all of my letters of recommendations from past employers, and I always found this to be quite interesting.

In my younger days, I could and would push myself, daily to see just how long I could last on my “high energy” DNA. Up early, working through lunch, staying late at the job site to complete tasks, and crashing by 8pm. I’m still pushing myself now but find that I’m drawing my energy these days from my passion to accomplish goals in my work and personal life in a more balanced way. My energy also comes from my faith, hope, and desire to continue to be a servant leader and to fulfill BIG dreams that weren’t possible when I was younger. It also comes from the collaborations that I now have the opportunity to engage in based on relationships built in my personal learning network. Lastly, it comes from the love I receive daily from my family and friends.

So I ask you the question…From where do you draw your energy?

    Hi Lisa,

I am a new teacher working as a substitute in p-3 classrooms. I draw my energy from the children and from the other teachers I meet at the different schools. I have a lot to learn and want to remain passionate about teaching. It can be draining sometimes. I reflect on each day and look forward to a new experience and opportunity to improve and learn.

Thank you for your time and dedication.

    Sincerely,
    Erin Devine
